Events & Docs

In order to be able to send a team to South Africa we need to raise a lot of money. A fundraising committee has been set-up to try and organise these funds and this page will detail all the events that will be taking place.

A totaliser will keep a track and keep you informed of how much is being raised against the target. If you have any fundraising ideas, we’d be happy to hear them.

Simply click here or on the “ideas and thoughts” tab and let us know what you are thinking.

Documents

There are a number of documents that you might like to use or simply look at. These can be viewed via the subpage on the right.

Cycle to South Africa

Good luck to everybody taking part in the 5970 mile cycle relay from Gosport to Cape Town. Remember each family will need to have the bike for just 1 week with a target of at least 200 miles for their leg of the journey. The key element though is that each family should try to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship for their leg which should be achievable (sponsorship form).

You should have received info on when your leg of the journey will be. If you don’t know, details can be found via this link. The baton should be passed each Sunday and you are all asked to try and arrange to collect the bike from the preceding family. Any probems with this please email Tim Holling who is organising this event.

Individual & cummulative mileages and monies raised will be shown each each on this site. Please feel free to email any photos of your endevours and we’ll be happy to share them.

Simon Walks the Pennine Way

What Is The Pennine Way?

The Pennine Way is a National Trail in England. It runs 429 km (272 miles) from Edale, in the northern Derbyshire Peak District, north through the Yorkshire Dales and the Northumberland National Park, it ends at Kirk Yetholm, just inside the Scottish border. The path runs along the Pennine hills, it is described as the backbone of England.

So no easy challenge!  During Simon’s Easter Holidays he will attempt to walk the Pennine Way. However he will attempt to walk the route backwards. Starting at Kirk Yetholm and ending in Edale.

You will be able to follow his progress on Twitter: @SiJBurns

Also he is raising funds for the tour but this time it will be for Kit needed for the players. So please fill in the sponsor form as ever penny counts.
